kayaking on the narrow river (wed? thurs?)

i'm curious as to when the families are arriving pre-fred-festivities. i fondly remember kayak surfing with colin, spencer and eric many years ago and i'd love to put together an afternoon of paddling/surfing/exploring on the narrow river/narragansett beach. if i were to put this together for wednesday or thursday, who might be interested/in the area?

it would be open to all - i would also need to check out the currents for those days to see when might be the best time, so we wouldn't fight the current one way or another. some could explore the river, others could go out and play in the surf, others could watch from the beach.

thoughts? interest?

Excellent. Dottie's suggestion for a seafood feast on Friday would be perfect. The Saturday party should definitely have a "zoo" component to it and maybe a hat show?

I also spoke to Dunc, and he is searching the schedule to get some of his family in attendance. all the best.

Perhaps we ought to consider a ZOO PARTY, hats and all, on Saturday evening?!! Really wouldn't be complete without one...I am sure the the Campbell Clan could pull it off. What do you think?

Hey, I was thinking about Fred and how much he loved the Seafood Buffet at the Dunes Club and how much the twins loved to pig out at the Clambake at the DC. Sooooo let's pig out Friday night at Buckeye Brookafter sports at the tower. Rather than doing a clambake which includes stuff like sausage and potatoes that are so marginal, let's focus on what we all want -- lobster and steamers and perhaps some littlenecks and perhaps some shrimp and there's corn -- the kind we like and not what you get from a clambake. I want to explore people who can do this for us -- ie catered -- maybe the main Street Fish people. Perhaps Deb et al could help too. And we could also pig out on ice cream and cake. This is all of course MY TREAT! So what do you think?

Friday Night Baseball Game

Liz and I are excited about putting together the Friday night game. I'm sending in the reservation form to the SK Parks as we speak. It's called Brousseau Field if anyone was wondering!

We have other ideas that we're scheming about as well. We'll share those later...

UPDATE 6/7/06 - the reservation for the game is now guaranteed for 3:30-7:30 on Friday night. All set!

love to all,
Laura
